Concert Announcement!! Come to the record launch of a new Spanish pop/rock band called: SAL DE MI VIDA  at ´Sol´ on Calle Jardines. The doors open at 11:30 and the concert begins at midnight. There is a cover charge of about 1.000 ptas. They're a very high energy band that sings all original material and happen to be very good friends of mine.

Trip to the beautiful historic town of Siguenza and excursion to the Cañon del Río Dulce.
Departure: 8:15 am Chamartín train station. Meeting on the platform.

Month of April, 2001

1st April
Hiking excursion From 'Bola del Mundo' to Manzanares el Real following the course of Río Manzanares.
Leaving from Estación de Cercanías de Recoletos at 9:00am, meeting in front of ticket office at 8:45 am. 
The hike is about 6 hours walking mainly downhill. Make sure to wear good hiking boots, bring water and some food.

6th April
Concert (Lo más flamenco - Antonio Canales, Rafael Amargo, Juan de Juan, La Barbería del Sur, etc.) at the SALA CARACOL, C/ Bernardino Obregón, 18, Metro Embajadores. The price is 2.500 pts.
Meeting at 9:30 pm, Glorieta de Embajadores.

Sunday 22nd April
We're going to visit the area around Monasterio El Paular. Click here to find out about it.
We will go on a 'Paseo temático - geológico' of about 2 hours. Then lunch (you have to bring food and water) and then we can visit the Monastery.
Remember to wear comfortable clothes and hiking boots and don't forget to bring a waterproof jacket as the Sierra is very unpredictable!

Leaving from Plaza de Castilla bus station, bus to Rascafría, Continental Auto, at 8:00 am , arriving at 10:15 am. Then it's a 30 min. walk to where the excursion starts. Coming back at 18:30. The bus is 1.530 pesetas (ida y vuelta).

May 1st puente
 If you're interested in going to Galicia for the May 1st puente, contact either Elvira or Karen . We're going by car and there are a few spots left. We leave Sat. morning and return Tues/Wed. We have reserved a casa rural in the Rías Bajas area near Pontevedra.

Thursday 3rd May at 21: 30 pm there is a 'Nuevo Flamenco' concert: Ketama, Raimundo Amador, José Mercé 
at Palacio de los Deportes, Madrid.

Saturday 5th May at 9:00 am Birdwatching - El Pardo
This event is organized by 'Ecologistas en Acción'.
OBSERVACIÓN DE AVES en el Monte de El Pardo. Para aprender a identificar las diferentes especies de aves a lo largo de la rivera del Manzanares y en el Monte del Pardo.

Hay que llevar comida, bebida y prismáticos.
